It’s new year and everybody wants to lose weight , eat healthier or even want to their control sugar craving one of your new year resolution might be to avoid sugar. sadly, less than 10% of Americans will actually go through with their commitments. The true foe that usually stop us from reaching our healthier lifestyles is the temptation to consume sugar-and too much of it. It is truly found in almost everything like:
- canned fruit
- breakfast cereals
- baked goods
- fruit juices
- ice cream
- dried fruits
It is literal that sugar can make you addicted! It create the same effects on the brain like cocaine or heroine. daunting right? The white granulated sugar is chemically formulated to make us love the taste and then allow us to keep coming back for more. This is why we do not think twice about saying no to a birthday party or stopping by that bakery on the way to work that smells oh so good!
Reflect about it. When you eat the cake, and ice cream, whatever sweets you may opt- it drive these signals to your brain that makes you feel so happy and active inside of you! Let’s say you consume one soda. After an hour or so, you tend to feel worse than you did before consuming the soda. So, what do you do? You go for another soda and happiness again. You keep repeating it.
Try and break that sugar craving addiction for good and although it might not be that easy, but just follow this few tips to help you get there and control sugar craving.

1. Wrap your mind around the idea.

It’s not that easy eating sweet things after brushing your teeth or eating something with a minty flavor to it. I don’t like eating food after taking peppermints- it gives the same effect. The sturdy the mint, the more you are improbable to reach for sweets. So have it in mind that brushing your teeth regularly will actually help to reduce your risk for cavities and avoiding sugar.
3. Drink water
Water fills your tummy and makes you full. We all know that. However, so many of us tend to enjoy something with a little more taste or fun to it. I am guilty! I sometimes don’t like the boring taste of water. Alternatively, I prefer adding a few slices of fresh lemon to my waters or even infuse fresh fruits as well. This aid to give the water a more natural, and flavor taste. If you find yourself craving for something carbonation or soda, try to get a carbonated water like La Croix-this will aid trick your taste buds into thinking you are actually drinking soda!
4. Eat Protein At Every Meal

Though last on the list, this is perhaps the most important tip of all! You start craving sweets! Protein is great for satiety and may help with cravings as well.
According to Institute of Medicine, it suggest that adults should get a minimum of 0.8 grams of protein for every kilogram of body weight per day. Therefore regardless of what we believe, we truly do need more protein in our diets for a variety of health reasons! If you are extremely energetic woman, you might even need more protein in your diet to maintain your workouts and to nourish your muscles after putting them to work.
5. Get more rest
Sleep is the divine healer of all things. No, really. When you are fatigued, you will do anything to feel better and to get your energy levels back. Before thinking of taking energy drink, first try to get a nap and see how you feel afterwards. Sleep deprivation can cause your stress levels to rise which in turn, makes you crave sweet crap even more-not to mention it also causes weight gain. A lack of sleep can also throw off your hormones and make you feel hungrier and crankier than usual. So get your zzzz’s!
